Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - The Dead Shall Rise Reveals Official Trailer
Earlier this summer, IGN broke the news that the long-dormant Legacy of Kain franchise is returning in the form of a new prequel graphic novel. Now that the Kickstarter campaign for that graphic novel is live, we can exclusively debut the teaser trailer and preview art for Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - The Dead Shall Rise.
First, check out the teaser trailer in the video player above or embedded below for a look at the artwork for the graphic novel:
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise is a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Bit Bot Media. The book is written by Joshua Viola (True Believers, It Came From the Multiplex) and Angie Hodapp (Unioverse, Shadow Atlas), with interior art by Juan Samu (Star Wars, Godzilla), letters by Jeremiah Lambert (Masters of the Universe, Transformers), covers by Dave Rapoza (Destiny, Magic: The Gathering) and Aaron Lovett (Monster Train, Inkbound). The book features additional art by Jonny Bush (Rob Zombie, Ghost) and Ninja Jo (Star Wars, Stranger Things), with Brent Friedman (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Call of Duty) providing narrative guidance, and Crystal Dynamics has also provided creative direction based on unreleased elements of Soul Reaver lore.

The Kickstarter campaign for The Dead Shall Rise includes a number of different pledge tiers, with the book available in both digital and print forms. Other bonus options include art prints, a companion soundtrack album by Celldweller and Trivium’s Matthew Kiichi Heafy, latex masks of both Kain and Raziel, and even a three-foot replica of the Reaver blade.
